Infant Massage Class

Event Details:

Infant massage, “IS AMAZING” and is a wonderful way to communicate and bond with your baby. Darlene Galeski, RN, CEIM, CBC, a former school nurse with many years of pediatric experience, believes in the power of touch and the many benefits for both mom/dad and baby.  The infant massage class will help you learn to share with your baby the many benefits of infant massage, such as: help relieve tension and stress, reduce pain, sleep better, relieve gas and promote elimination, stimulate all body systems and promote bonding and secure attachment.  This class is for infants ages 6 weeks to 6 months old.

In each of the two, one hour sessions, the parents are taught how to perform the massage strokes on their baby.  We discuss the use of oils, learn tips for continuing massage on the older child, and discuss different ways to respond to your babies’ cry. These classes are totally baby friendly, so babies can do what they do best, sleep, eat, poop, pee and cry.  They are in control.  All you need to bring is a blanket and your baby.  Please call our office to RSVP.  There is no cost for this class.

“Being touched and caressed, being massaged, is food for the infant. Food as necessary as minerals, vitamins and proteins.”
