Dr. Andrea Pearson

Pediatrician in Frederick, Maryland

Dr. Pearson was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the oldest of five children. She received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Calvin College and then completed a two year post-baccalaureate Cancer Research Training Award Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. She received her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and completed her Pediatric residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC. Prior to joining FCP, she worked as a Pediatric Hospitalist and ED attending with Frederick Memorial Hospital and then Johns Hopkins EMS at Howard County General Hospital where she lead several quality improvement projects and championed a “Pain Free ED” initiative including the implementation of a successful nitrous oxide sedation program.

She is board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has a special interest in medically complex patients. She also is very interested in mental health issues and has training in Mindfulness Meditation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Dr. Pearson lives in Bethesda with her husband and beautiful baby daughter. She enjoys spending time reading, cooking, and hiking.
