Are We the Right Practice for Your Family?

Frederick County Pediatrics (FCP) is intended to be a small but comprehensive pediatric medical practice. Our focus is individualized, quality care. We encourage family engagement, education, and preventative care.
The following guidelines reflect our philosophy of care.

We are currently ONLY excepting newborns at this time. Please visit our prenatal page for expecting parents here.

Due to a significant increase in requests to transfer in new patients, we have made the difficult decision to pause accepting all new patient transfers. Though we are honored by so many requests to join our practice we are unable to make exceptions as we feel obligated to maintain appointment availability to our current patient population. Please continue to have your child seen at their current office. We will announce here when the pause is lifted.

We want to be your primary contact for health concerns of both acute and chronic conditions. We are committed to both the physical and psychological well-being of our patients and families.

Our vaccine schedule is in alignment with the current CDC and AAP recommendations. We do not accommodate altered/split/spread out vaccine schedules nor allow unvaccinated children to join our practice unless there is a medical contraindication.

We similarly follow CDC and AAP’s antibiotic prescribing guidelines for appropriate usage. We do not call in antibiotics over the phone as we do not believe that is good medicine.

Our practice's after-hours calls are covered by a triage service and is intended for emergencies that cannot wait until our business hours. Advice given after hours does incur a fee of $17.

Please note that the triage service is not able to make appointments, provide medication refills or give lab results.

It is our intent to participate in most insurance plans including Maryland state insurance programs.

We employ a billing specialist to facilitate claims and answer billing questions. Our policies regarding copays, form completion fees, missed appointments, payment plans are outlined here.

We participate with most of the major commercial insurance companies and also many of the Maryland State medical assistance programs.

We do not participate with traditional Kaiser or Aetna Better Health Medicaid.

Please contact our office to confirm participation with your plan.

*Appointments canceled within less than 24 hours notice or an appointment no show, will be charged a fee*

We offer same-day sick visits each day we are open in our office and via telehealth.

Please call to schedule an appointment as we do not offer walk-ins.

During office hours, a nurse is available to help determine if an appointment is needed, answer questions, and to facilitate referrals and medicine refills.
